Still had legs which is remarkable given the age - probably should have been consumed 25 years ago, but it was fun to try (it was a gift). Definitely drink now if you have one!!

Unfortunately we waited too long before tasting this wine. We were in Napa at the winery in 1976 and tasted the 1975. It was wonderful. When I tasted this 1976, I recalled my grandmother's house...just a little musty. But deep down inside, there was that beautiful flavor I remembered from 1976, but unfortunately, the mustyness was just too much. I dumped the wine down the sink.
My bottle, served blind. Initial guesses targeted aged Rioja, then ran all over the map before anyone considered it a CalCab. Slightly stewy nose, much better on the palate. Very mature but still interesting.

Inky, woody, tobacco, leather, pepper licorice, cherry. Likely past its prime but still a killer. Drank it with rack of lamb and i suspect when young would have been too big for it but great at this stage. Outstanding

Definitely old, definitely tired, but it still had some interest. Nose of prunes, red currants, tomato, herbs. On the palate, no sign of oxidation, but definitely almost gone. Still has some nice bright cherry flavor with a hint of mint. Short finish but smooth.
