As always, YY a pleasure to drink. I would say though that this is beginning to slip past peak, either that or it’s closed down a bit. The fruit was a bit subdued and dare I say it, out of kilter with usually perfectly balanced menthol notes.

Consumed at winery in Yarra Valley. Appearance: Clear, medium ruby. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity with developing aromas of black cherry, plum, leather, tobacco, and green bell pepper. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium tannin is soft and resolved, medium body, medium+ intensity, 13.5% abv with developed flavors of black cherry, leather, and tobacco with a medium+ finish. Likely at peak and drinking exceptionally today - has the stuffing to drink well for 5+ years yet.

Eucalyptus. It’s like a blackcurrent halls soother - which is unjustified because they were repulsive (and did fa to stop a cough). But the length and intensity. Abundance of fruit but with tertiary complexities creeping in. Great time to drink these IMO.

A brilliant YY#1 here that is in a very fine drinking window at the moment. Balance is impeccable, some nice complexity developing to mesh together the mulberry, dried herb and cedar flavours. Deep and rich, yet balanced and refined. Tannins a real highlight here as well, very clean and focused on the palate, such a lovely wine to drink.

Not fantastic, felt that it had lost some of it's depth of fruit. Can't see this getting any better, drink now!
