Lovely fragrant nose, with blackcurrants, pencil box and eucalyptus. Plush, cassis and a touch of herb, still some grip and with a wonderful fullness on the mid palate, leading into a long berry fruit finish.

Deep garnet in the glass. A gorgeous nose that gives you zero hints that this is New World Cab - notes of fresh & dried plum, cherry, strawberry, tobacco, pencil lead and vanilla. Very soft nose, not jumping out of the glass. Full-bodied, packed structure, but not aggressive in any sense. Drinking exactly like an aged Margaux - soft and velvety, but serious at the same time. Not yet fully developed on the aromatic front with a structure that is fully rounded and ready to be consumed whole. Could go 5-6 more years, but why wait. Drinking beautifully now, exactly in its sweet spot.

Powerful, slightly medicinal nose. Dark fruits. Very good mouthfeel - fills every corner of the mouth. Bit of grip on the very long finish. Still has bags of ripe fruit, but there does seem to be a hint of herbaceousness in there as well. Clearly just hitting the plateau, with lots of life ahead of it. Delicious.

Even after 15 years it needed a good one hour decant. Good balance between jammy fruit and complexity and depth. In a good spot now but can cellar for years longer. Long finish with some pepper.

Another punt from a collection, and another stored improperly and too far gone. Nose was promising but fruit completely gone from the palate.
