  • In solid shape for a 1987 but it was probably more drinkable 10-15 years ago. Fruit pretty much nonexistent.

  • This wine was alright, but has definitely peaked. A bit sour upon opening, but with 45 minutes or so of air, it opened up. Great acidity remains actually (kind of surprised), and almost all the tannins have resolved. Very smooth, not a ton of flavor. Some cherry and red fruits remain on the nose, a bit of leather and tinderbox. Clearly cabernet sauvignon, but again not a lot left there, at least in my bottle.

    Drink up.

  • Surprising. Thought this would be vinegar. Still nice color. Medium nose of dark plums, cherries, sweet blueberries, musty cigar box, leather. Opens up on the palate after being open for a half hour. Some nice teeth coating tannins. Nice palate of ripe fruits, candied fruits, a bit of that barnyard funk some mention. Surprisingly long finish. This has turned out to be quite an amazing wine. Hours later it was still delicious, still tasting quite fresh.
