This is a good Cabernet that is transitioning to a place where the secondary and tertiary flavors are taking over. Decanted 90 minutes.
Color: Deep ruby. Smell: Blackberry, bramble, black cherry, dried cherry, dried black fig, cola, vanilla, earth, and allspice. Taste: Plum, black cherry, Coconut, baking spices, coffee finish.
Fresh fruit flavors have transitioned to mostly dried fruit. This is full bodied. The tannins are medium-plus though fully integrated and velvety. Acidity is declining not as pronounced as it was a few years ago. Bone dry.
This probably doesn’t need to be decanted and I might have perceived more fresh fruit if I hadn’t decanted. Overall, this is a velvety, delicious Cabernet that I feel has rewarded my patience to hold on to a few bottles.
