Bought not long ago. Popped and poured. No aromas. Decanted. Very stiff, some red berries on the nose, palate is light on its feet and smooth, but serious bite on the attack. Probably needs time like 10-15 years. I regret buying this, especially for the price, I expected much better.
Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with leather, tobacco, green bell pepper, dark plum, blackcurrant and cedar. Medium taste of dark plum, blackcurrant, leather green bell pepper, black pepper and cedar. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. High tannins. Full body. A very good Napa Valley Merlot. Drink now or over the next couple of years, or wait five to fifteen years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

Opaque ruby bowl turning slightly foggy and transparent at the rim. Blackberries, cooked berries, spice, and pepper on the nose. Palate is spicy cooked berries, chocolate shavings, some earth notes. Medium tannins and medium plus acidity. Pnp and evolved nicely over three hours, definitely has some aging left.

Bright garnet-purple in color, medium full bodied, expressive ripe blackberry and blackcurrant fruits with floral, cassis, tobacco, licorice, cedar and earthy notes with a hint of clove spice turning to tight crisp acidity and grainy tannins on the finish. Still young at five years, this might benefit from a little more time to settle and integrate. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2024/01/grgich-hills-napa-valley-cabernet.html
