Opened 12 hours prior to consumption( night before).day 1 : I believe this is still alive, albeit fading and turning very rustic. Mountain fruit still hanging on, some herbs, leaned out with appropriate bricking on edges. Finishing last 1.5 glass on day 2 now and it’s not giving much up, very inert with occasional reminder that it is an old Napa cab.

From Art's cellar. I wondered if this would still have the stuffing when I took it to Ruth's Chris, but it was very good. Amber rim, forest floor nose with some remnants of dark fruit still hiding within. The tannins had totally resolved and the wine was far silkier than I thought a Napa Cab would be. Almost high quality St Estephe-like. Long finish, still balanced. Probably good for another couple of years, but why wait and gamble?

Beginning to look a little Tawnwy on the edges. alcohol at first, quickly blew off to opened up to cassis nose and soft oak on the pallate. another fine example of websites such as benchmark for drinking old ones at a reasonable price. drink up.

- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of dusty, walnut, oak and violet. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of sherry, dusty, saurkraut, oak and violet with a medium/full body. Coarse texture with a medium finish.
