Ripe strawberries, smoky tobacco. Good structure and very much in good shape, new world fruit with old world structure. Not mindblowing but an excellent dinner companion.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue's): Double blind. Dark core with a touch of bricking at the meniscus. Lovely bouquet of tobacco, black currants and violets. Flavors of currants, plum, cherry and green tobacco. I am struggling to determine if this is from Bordeaux or California. Forest floor notes emerge with air. Just a touch lean perhaps, and the acidity is there, so the while the fruit says CA, the structure leads me to Bordeaux, perhaps 1995. A very good showing for this wine. 92-93+ pts. Thanks, Mike.

27 years old - cork was in great shape until 80% of the way down then shredded (very typical). Definitely some deterioration on color but still plenty of fruit (cherry) on the nose and in the glass. On the downhill slope for sure but drinkable and enjoyable. Great finish - well integrated.

ready to drink. Evolved and delicious. Great value. Complex nose of leather, game, cherries and other sweet red fruits. Some graphite. Wish I had more.

Youthful and vibrant in depth. Still so many nuances and wonderful to experience. A “well built “ wine that was enjoyed in its glory!
