Had purchased several bottles upon release and unfortunately, like others, this was my last one. Color was still deep garnet with not a lot of bricking. Nose was full of blackberry, mushrooms and tar. Wine was full of acidity upfront with bright fruit on the palate. It had a nice elegance and velvetness to the finish. Not a lot of tannins so I think the window may be closing. But I still wish I had another bottle to taste down the road

the wine opens with a nose of blackberry and black raspberry. on the palate the wine is light and bouncy with predominantly dark fruit, earthiness, and some saddle leather. the wine has surprising acidity for a cabernet along with excellent balance. made in a day when 13.5% alcohol was the norm, the wine is not a fruit bomb and wonderfully drinkable.

My last bottle of this lovely wine acquired 10-11 years ago. Decanted at 4:30pm and tasted repeatedly over 5 hours. It is a translucent light to medium garnet color. Nose is light but effusive with the usual suspects of leather, cedar, blackberries, plum, chocolate and red florals. Great natural acidity. Light to medium bodied and velvety soft on your tongue. Elegance personified. Very long on the finish. A delight to drink.

Purchased from a now defunct wine shop in Harwichport, MA circa 2010 prior to using CT. Decanted at 5:15pm and tasted from 7-9pm along with a 1995 Château Pichon-Longueville Baron. Both were labeled 13% ABV. Both were shockingly similar and quite delicious, I had a slight preference for the Mount Veeder due to its more generous fruit and complexity. Neither had any bricking and both were a slightly translucent garnet-crimson. The nose on this had cedar, tobacco, leather, graphite, blackberry briar and sous bois. The mouth feel was velvety smooth with fully integrated tannin and moderate acidity. The fruit was more pronounced on the palate than on the nose with blackberry, black plum, cassis, and some tarry chocolate and black tea along with the earthy elements in the nose which flowed through in the finish which was persistent. Excellent with grilled steaks.
