Opened in honor of a friend's 40th wedding anniversary. Blown away by this wine, a complete surprise! Low neck fill, good cork. Dark ruby with brick edges. Amazing, complex nose: dark fruits, currants, mint, leather, lead pencil. Very good mouth feel, soft tannins, long finish. All 6 people who tasted the wine liked it, even those who don't like older wines. 12% alcohol, price tag: $9.95.

Nice bouquet of cedar, tobacco and plums. Silky smooth on the palate with dark fruits. Nice acidity and soft tannins to keep things fresh. Such a pleasure to drink old Napa Cab.

Not sure how well my Father stored this but low shoulder fill. Cork came out barely okay with a Durand. Certainly past its prime but enjoyable nonetheless for secondary flavors, still a touch of plum on the mouth. NR

(Charles Krug Winery (Peter Mondavi Family) Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Selection) Bricking medium dark red violet color; lifted, menthol, tart red currant, cherry, cedar nose; silky textured, youthful, cassis, ripe red currant, cherry, light cedar, menthol palate with firm, sweet tannins and good balancing acidity; long finish (12.1% alcohol; 12 months in French oak; base of neck fill on this bottle, which came direct from Charles Krug cellar) 93+ points

Well stored bottle. Good fill. Good cork. Beautiful ruby color to the rim. Muted nose, lithe in texture, fruit is gone.
