Magnum format. Stored for 20+ years in climate controlled cellar. Opened 30 minutes before Christmas dinner of Prime Rib Roast. Not decanted. Cork in almost pristine condition. Was quite concerned about the age and whether or not it would still be drinkable. Much to our suprise it was more than "dinkable, in fact, was quite remarkable. Color and clarity was that of a 5 to 8 year old cab. still actually had some nice tanins which underpinned the body of flavors of red fruit and forest floor with just a hint of Eucalyptus. the last glass, some 2 and a half hours later, finally showed the age of the wine, but it held up remarkably throughout the dinner and was definately the highlight of everyone's conversation. Just shows what a well cared for 100% cab from a good stock can do over time. Wish I had another, but it will be long remembered at future Chrismas table discussions.

Aged and mature; run down; some rustic depth with light berry fruit and lean finish.

Slightly sour and mildly flawed, and certainly not one with years to go, but behind that - classic cabernet fruit did peek out.
