Delicious! drinking beautifully right now. Huge nose of barnyard and animal. The fruit is still very lively and the tannins are very fine and give this some nice structure. Not a very long finish and maybe lacking in some complexity but just a really enjoyable wine.

Very nice. Dark. Secondary and cherry notes on the nose. Ripe, but not over ripe. Soft in the mouth, but good balance and lingering finish. I liked it a lot.

Three Boston Dinners; 8/17/2014-8/19/2014 (The Hub): Remarkably deep ruby and primary looking. Forward Burgundian nose of smoke, game, and dark red fruit. Big for Volnay, ripe, pungent red fruit that stops short of being confected. Average acidity and round tannins, good length. A great success and an excellent mouthful if one is willing to look past its size and relative lack of finesse. Its youthfulness and vitality came as a complete surprise.

Bouchard Père et Fils Tasting with Frédéric Weber (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Popped and poured. Mature black and red cherry aromas and flavors with rich spice. Mature to start, this continued to advance even in the 15 minutes I kept it in glass.
