Full ruby with some turbid cloudiness; very savory nose, beef bouillon, very slowly becomes autumnal. Others formed their more negative opinions quickly despite my urging that they go back to this wine. Sipping it right now, the day after. The fruit is amazingly deeper and more rich than yesterday. (I laid argon over it when I got home yesterday, no refrigeration.)

Matt's bottle. This opened up nicely and showed some primary fruit - cherries, a bit of smoked meat, some florals and spices. The main thing about the wine was that it was mature but really fresh - with good fruit and complexity. Not huge or monumental by any means, but just a beautiful and classic Red Burg - elegant. My WOTN. 17.5/20.

Ex-chateau bottling in magnum. Although the wine is fresh, the Volnay is a touch too earthy with little fruit left.

Bouchard domaine tasting. Earthy and metallic note dominating the wine. But there was still some fruit left.
