had a few weeks ago. side by side of this with a 2012 Schrader LPV. wow loved them both. we decanted both for two hours and then had with dry aged rib eyes and NY Strips. def good punch to this - dense in color, powerful layers of fruit, pencil lead/tobacco on the nose and some of those savory herbs and well balanced acidity framing the red fruit on this. a medium+ bodied fuller St Julien and one that held its own vs a big CA cab

A classic St Julien; foursquare, with a firm structure and complex flavours of cassis, tobacco and leather with a touch of game. Spicy and with firm tannins, resulting in a pleasing structure, this still demonstrated freshness and savoury characters plus a lingering finish. Top drawer. CHP 95 pts

Wow, this wine was incredible. Gave it a generous decant of 4 hours. Super delicious from the first sip when the cork was popped. Amazing complexity and vibrant fruit. Much better than I was even expecting after cellaring this for 15 years!

A previously frozen bottle with half the bottle missing, yet it was still a fresh and impressively beautiful wine with no apparent damage. With some air, it seems to be a good time to pop though no doubt another decade might unlock further wonders.

Similar to prior note after a 2 hour double decant (probably could have used longer): delicious, drink or preferably hold
