Coravin fun - Bordeaux (My place, Burwood): From Coravin. Brambles, blackcurrant, a little cassis, cedar, leather, touches of gentlemen's club and cigar box. Wild blackcurrant, fleshy, juicy, tangy, powdery, silky tannins; slightly drying but integrated, long, lovely, especially considering the vintage.

Wine During Sue’s Visit; 3/1/2024-3/3/2024 (Princeton, NJ): Delicious wine. Red fruit, blackberry, herbs, leather, forest floor. Sweet berries on the finish.Complex and not showing its age. A great pairing with the herbal, roasted rack of American lamb.

75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak barrels (50% new), 12.5% vol.
Decanted just before dinner, required 30 to 60 minutes to show its best. On the nose mainly tertiary notes (leather and forest floor) with a hint of black berries and a suggestion of fresh herbs, on the palate fresh and tight with good depth and long finish, the aftertaste has a nice bitterness but is not drying.
Classic old school Pauillac on the elegant side and a perfect food wine. Two years ago, I thought it is at its peak, but this bottle gives the impression as it still requires a few years to peak.
Had several Médoc from this vintage this year and I was again and again surprised about the positive development and that they still get better and better if stored correctly.

A bit mute and quiet to begin but blossomed late on - needs an hour in a decanter.
