  • The wine had neat left a lot of stuff in the bottle.
Colour: wine red with distinct mid brick.
Nose: An expected slight weariness of age could not be dismissed out of hand. Yet amazingly clear and red and black currants, Cuban tobacco, cedar and mixed herbs floral aroma notes which passed easily into medicinal.
Palate: Again, the slight dull note, a still existing Cabernet structure could be heard. Again cassis, tobacco and herbs, understated elegance of age Coming this amazing mummy. Aristocratic, but without pressure, tannins. Very nice fruity sweetness and a pleasant acidity supporting.
Finish: As was to be expected palate and short what. You know, that stuff is after all, already 63 years old.

  • At close to 65 years of age, this was ready for retirement. Fading, but with the unmistakable character of a Pauillac, the cassis, cranberry, tobacco and cedar personality is still holding on, albeit just barely. The wine is light in fruit, weight and finish.
