The cork broke when it was pulled. Poured into a decanter and decanted for 30 minutes. Had the last sip at least 2 hours later, it showed no sign of fading. The 1975 St Pierre still possesses a very healthy colour, deep brick red core with a hint of brownish rim. On the nose, there was red fruits mixed with some dirty mushroom and vegetal components. The wine was very rich, concentrated and full bodied. There was still some dry tannin remaining. On the palate, there was some sweet fruits, followed by coffee, mushroom, cedar wood and black tea. The wine had a refreshing acidity and a long finish. A classic fully matured claret.

Bordeaux 1975 ten years after the harvest; tasted blind, only the vintage was known: th perfect young and red colour, the boquet shows already much concentration and that continues in the still semewhat closed but very refined midtaste. The aftertaste is very, very long with a superb balance; in the style of the Léoville Las-Cases but showing more potency.

Good old bordeaux. Nose typical bordeaux with leather, tobacco, ash. Palate sweet without tannins, slightly unbalanced acid in the finish.
Great for what it is.
