  • My last bottle of Fieuzal 75 after drinking it for 6 years.
Mid-shoulder bottle with signs of seepage.
    Decanted just prior to serving.
Classic Graves nose entirely on the tertiary side at this point. still enough tannin to hold everything together. It only took 45 years for the tannins to calm down!
bottles in good shape would last another 5+ years.

  • Top shoulder fill. Cork solid but fell into bottle. Lots of bricking with plenty of sediment. It took about 45 minutes for the funk to completely blow off. Like so many '75s, on the austere side that took decades to come around. This wine, once fully opened, had sweet black and red fruits, tobacco, cedar and dried herbs. Nearly silky smooth (not that I expect any '75s to be silky). The wine held up beautifully for the 90 minute dinner. An extra point for its ageworthiness.
