Most of the fruit here has moved in an eau de vie direction.
dominant spicy and earthy notes at this point.
The texture is beautiful and the finish is complex and long.
Past its peak a little.

1966 Château La Croix Pomerol

I continue to enjoy the classic balance in the 66 Bordeaux wines; left or right bank.
This is no exception. First experience with this small chateau.
Very top shoulder fill and cork in good condition for its age.
Evolved color as you would expect with a 58 year old wine of mostly Merlot but very appropriate.
The nose is so elegant combining a little remnant fruit with forest floor notes, baking spices and aromas suggesting stems.
Long finish, soft but holding up and so elegant...

2021 Domaine le Galantin Bandol Rosé

This is about as good as Rose wine gets IMO.
Nice freshness and balance; not heavy like my recent experience with Pibarnon and Tempier.
Long, crisp finish with nice floral notes, fruit and spices.
So enjoyable. No hurry to drink but I don't have any more...
