Giaconda Vertical (Sydney, Australia): The nose is quite reticent, revealing only some smoky, dusty and tobacco styled aromas. The palate is classy, restrained and with good structure. At odds with some critics, I found this to be enjoyable and well worth taking a look at.

Exceptional taste. Certainly not past it's prime as yet but potentially at it's limit. Drink within the next 12-18mo.

Black Olives on the nose, the palate had sweet damson a bit of minerality and really was pretty drinkable.

Christmas '05 in Australia; 12/8/2005-12/27/2005 (Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne and Gold Coast): Deep dark purple. Closed nose at first, revealing fruit and spice. Tried two days later and had flattened but smoothed out.
