Color: deep old gold verging on amber. Bouquet of butterscotch, barley sugar, apricots and honey (no young citrus elements here!). Beautiful palate of caramel, toffee, butter and brown sugar. Good botrytis and while still some good structure, this bottle had a slight touch of bitterness at the tail end of a long, long finish. Still moderately sweet and with great acidity, this wine is an example of how great the '62 vintage was in Sauternes. My last bottle of many enjoyed over the years, I would have to say it is finally time to drink up as I don't think this can really get any better (though it will certainly last awhile longer!).

Same as last bottle, but with one important difference. No nose. We almost thought it was corked, but all you could smell were faint hints of fruit and old wood. After a lot of swirling, a bit more fruit came out, maybe level 2 on a scale of 10. But the palate was fine, full, rich, apricot fruit and good finish. Don't know what happened to the aromatics on this wine.

NVMLC. Brownish golden in the glass. The nose and palate were like a liquid creme brulee.
