  Riscoperto in cantina. 13 anni per un Rosso di Montalcino mi pareva un'affinamento abbondante. Ed invece no, questo Valdicava è ancora squisito, integro, vitale, invecchiato con grande equilibrio. Gran bella sorpresa.
  Naso ottimo, ancora vitale, bei frutti rossi maturi, tabacco, finocchio e speziature esotiche, sbuffi dolciastri di torroncino, miele di castagno. Bocca bella carnosa, balsamica, "catramosa", levigata, con tannini vellutati e soffici, a tratti quasi dolce ma scorrevole e molto armonica. Elegante ma anche accattivante.
  Sangiovese di interpretazione moderna, ma di grande qualità e di ottima materia prima. Al prezzo che l'ho spuntato (7,5 euro), dovevo comprarne una cassa.
  Bel vino ancora in ottima forma.

  Suzi, Eric and Sid's Trip to Italy; 8/21/2003-9/4/2003 (Tuscany & Bellagio, Italy): (Dinner at La Chiusa) The nose is very ripe, plummy, and fat. Slightly smokey. With time some mushroom, mineral, lots of earth. The palate has explosive fruit, like a bowl of black cherries, just bursting. Huge acidity and searing tannin, and with time this gets fatter, smoother and longer. Very primary, huge and pure. For €25 this is a steal!
