PnP and had with pizza at the Brooklyn Firefly with Friends. Last time i popped a bottle was in 2019 and I made a note to hold this one for a few years (which somehow I unbelievably was able to do). This wine was much improved form then and really singing now classic Brunello (Valdicava did not make a BdM in 2014, so this is declassified BdM) profile with medium to full body and cherry and leather. Great balance with a long finish.

Cherry and tobacco with oak depth and hints of boysenberry. Very nice indeed for an off year. First Valdicava and now I look forward to their Brunellos.

first one I had 6 months ago was closed and lean. This one is not a blockbuster but nice medium body Rosso. I always buy Valdicava Rosso and the Brunello. It is better with some air.

Dark, fresh berries on the nose with a lighter feel and hints of tobacco leaf and herbs.
Quite dark early with a bitter, tannic finish that seems oak heavy.
It is not a great wine. Maybe the bottle is off but if seems weirdly bitter and sour.
