Certainly less mature than my last bottle, with really deep and statueseque fruit in a basket of herbs, spices, and wet rocks. This bottle has a lot of structure, and while open and accessible, is certainly not a fleshy beast.

Lovely, local Gigondas, sweet Grenache notes and an abundance of garrigue elixir. A joy to drink and at €16.50 in the Caveau Gigondas a bargain. We have arrived in the south.

Delicious and full and pretty close to full maturity. Round, supple, dark red fruits with spices and herbs well integrated and emerging leathery notes showing through. It feels both modern and stately. Nothing mind blowing, but its discreet complexity and accessibility is very attractive with a simple and well made braised meat dish.
