minty/spice nose - whiles somewhat hot from the high alcohol content, the wine mellowed after a few hours -- the next day it was even better paired with roast pork w/ sauerkraut. Wish I could find more

Decanted and poured. Muted nose at first, but opened up nicely after warming up from cellar temp and a good hour of air. Early notes of tar and pepper joined by plum, cherries, and faint flowers. Fruit is quite ripe and rich from the vintage, with plums and cherries on the attack. I agree with other reviewer that the midpalate was lacking. Finish is nice and lengthy with cherries, pepper, and a little tobacco. Less attractive was a noticeable burn/heat in the finish due to 14.5 alcohol. Overall quite nice though.

(BOUISSIERE GIGONDAS) #2; NOSE-stawberry cough medicine nose, Ricola candy, TASTE-much more polished & integrated than the Vacqueyras, very smooth on finish, much red fruit (cherry, strawberry, red cassis), a little gaminess, little oaked; drinking well for 5-7 years; JR-90; GV-91

Drinking nicely.....good fruit, long finish, still some tannins left. Went well with stew. Wish I had more.

Took to a friend's rooftop BBQ. No detailed TNs but remember it to be smooth, nice balance with some secondary flavours.
