SangioFest, Volume III "It's my favourite spot" (Chicago, IL): An excellent showing of this -- I really liked where this is right now, and it was probably a bit more compelling than the bottle of this I tasted two years ago. This has a lovely, dusty profile, with just a hint of volatility and brett that veers this towards a slightly more rustic profile. But I love the dense, dark fruit, and the aromaticity here. It's a complex, layered wine -- perhaps not quite for those who prefer their sangiovese with pure red fruit (which honestly I do) -- but there's such a layered complexity to this that I'm happy to overlook the more rustic aspects of this.

One of the best brunellos, I’ve ever tasted. And by far the best of the quite many vintages I’ve had from this estate. Powerful and dense while at the same time elegant and light on its feet. Can easily be kept in the cellar for 10 years, but it is already gorgeous. A sublime wine experience and best wine of an extravagant night in Copenhagen with Dom P P2, Mersault from Coche Dury and and even more fabulous wines.

The '10 Cerbaiona showed similarly to the prior time I've tasted it, in 2020. This is a very enjoyable Brunello, a bit funky but in a good way. It also has this combination of richness but elegance that the best wines have. That said, as I said in 2020, I don't really understand AG's 100 point score / the market price of this wine. The flavor profile is just a bit too rustic in my view for this to score at that level.
The nose was nicely perfumed with black fruit, violets, chocolate, leather, and roasted meats, a good mix of sweet dark fruit and slightly rustic, but attractive savory characteristics. On the palate, the wine is concentrated but very elegant, with no perceptible tannins to speak of at this point. I found leather, brown spices, chocolate, violets, and black fruits, leaning a bit savory but with a very attractive core of dark fruit. This wine has a textural richness that most of the other wines in this lineup lacked, but yet it's so finessed.
I would suggest drinking the '10 over the next few years, as I don't see upside from here and it is so good right now.

Had in a restaurant over Xmas. Overall, great complexity and deep charcoal taste. Blueberry/dark fruit comes through. Nice finish.
