Much better than other 2000 Martinelli chard I opened same night and threw out as flawed. This is definitely over the hill, but still pleasant to drink. My fault folr letting this get so gone, but not what you want from a high end chard.

Much better than expected for 12 year old chard. Thick, buttery, carmelly, but enough acid to balance and hold up. Went well with shellfish dinner. Don't wait much longer for any left, though.

Rich golden color. Oak dominates the nose upon opening but then yields to minerals, nuts and tropical fruit. Evolves nicely once open, with layers of flavor and aroma. At first thought it was in decline, but later was impressed with the rebirth of the fruit characteristics. Drink in the near term. 89-91

Very concentrated dark yellow color. Nose is somewhat enjoyable with kiwi, butter. Oak is noticeable but not overwhelming. Acidity is rather low with its fat and rich body. Finish tends to be on a metallic note although quite long. I'd say this wine is quite past its peak just like the '99 Martinelli I had a few weeks ago. I'll drink my Martinelli chard within 3 to 5 years from now on.
