This wine doesn't seem to have darkened at all despite the fact it's well over 8-years old. In some ways, I'd argue this is still a wine in its primary development, maybe just starting to go secondary. The fruit has receded a little bit, but there is still lemon, orange, and a touch of pineapple. Plenty of structure, it would be interesting to see this wine in another couple years.

Medium yellow in color. Nice nose of white fruits. Full of fruit on the palate, without noticable oak. Apples, lees, citrus. Up front, but with good definition and cut. Nice balance.

I suspect a defective bottle. Burnt, butterscotch and oxidized. This was a mess and went downhill after fifteen minutes. Undrinkable at thirty.

Wine Country August 2001: Mineral, smoke, French oak nose with apples. Ripe full bodied palate with a long mineral oak finish. Lots of oak.
