This bottling stood out among several we had during a visit to Martinelli this June and I feel the same way now. Lemon notes dominate the nose, with a touch of oak. The palate shows some oak, but its lighter than many Cali Chards, without overpowering. Medium-long finish. I agree with others that this has a shorter lifespan than other wines at this price point, but I think it will just fade slowly after another three or so years rather than just becoming undrinkable.

Flavors of minerality, black cherries, and spice. Aromas of black cherries and spice. Drank now, yes it seems early, but this wine is reaching its peak now. I believe, based on my palate, this wine has about two "strong" years left, at most. Yes, I am surprised at this also, but as you know each vintage and each vineyard has to stand on its own.

PnP. Dependingon the wine temperature, the rating varies. I think at a 53 F this wine is a 94. at 60 it’s a 90. I made a turmeric panko breaded Halibut filet to go with the wine and that worked out really well. Some apple, oak and butter. Rich and lovely wine

Second Sunday Group: 1995 Beaune (Eagle Brook CC): A nonblind warm up. Pale color with pretty honeysuckle and floral top notes. Apple dominates the palate; hints of coconut in the background. Very nice (G&L).
