Auction purchase from an excellent cellar. Med scarlet hue appropriate for the age. Cassis, cedar and minty freshness to the nose with some lavender and sage. Palate more cassis/black currants, sage, mint, plus vanilla and a hint of iodine at the finish. Beautiful balance, around 12% ABV and I am thinking it's just like an old school St Julien, and to be even more geeky it's not unlike Beychevelle. A very pleasant mid week surprise.

almost undrinkable. Little fruit on the nose but wine falls apart when you taste it. has strong menthol taste, with bitter/harsh finish
