pnp--pale yellow; nice fragrant nose of tangerine and a little grapefruit, also stone fruits; flavors of tropical fruits, peaches, and more lime than grapefruit, very balanced, full bodied; crisp medium long finish. Blind I would have thought it 10 yrs younger

Medium golden color, and clear in the glass. Tropical fruit, cotton candy, and floral notes on the nose give way to a mélange of pineapple, honeysuckle, pear, and apricot flavors on the palate. Nice texture, with a zip of acidity keeping the fruit forward.

Second Sunday Group: 2004 California Cabs (Rich & Dana's): Deep straw yellow color. Aromas of apple and mineral with subtle cotton and citrus undertones. Bright acidity, with cotton, citrus and honeysuckle flavors. Lengthy finish. Very nice. For a fleeting moment I thought perhaps Sauvignon Blanc, but quickly convinced myself otherwise due to a lack of any grassy notes. Tasty, no reason to hold this any longer IMO. 91-92 pts.

(Peter Michael Sauvignon Blanc L'Après-Midi) This was a wine completely destroyed by oak treatment. Not so much toast as aging in new French oak and excessive battonage. The wine is fermented with natural yeasts but the oak is was so overdone that you could not taste or smell any varietal character. It was also pretty dirty on the finish. For high-end American Sauvignon Blanc I much prefer Lail's efforts.
