  • Well, this is my #30 from St.Emilion and just #6 Grand Cru. All others were Grand Cru Classé, hence I approached this wine with understandable caution. Unnecessary! It's on par with many GCC! And if you consider the price... It beats many of them. Well, go figure! 2 hours in the decanter. One of the best aromas in my wine limited universe! Elegant, classy, finessed, but at the same time not so typical as for Merlot based wine! Red cherry and flowers. Vanilla and blackberry. Earth and plum. Tobacco and raspberry
    It's a crazy smell, isn't it?
How about the taste? On the same level. Structure, balance, soft texture all top notch.
Red cherry, blackberry, plum, minerals, spice, tobacco and all these flavors are "tied" with chocolate - cocoa elements. Long finish with minerals, spice and red fruits (unique!)

  • Not a bad wine but I was hoping for more. 1st glass or 2 were good but the 2nd day lost a lot of its character..

  • A little bit disappointed as I was pretty impressed by the 2015 bottle I had last year.
It was still nice with medium acidity and silky texture, but after some time easily declined and lost its character. The next day it became just an ordinary bottle with overflowing oak nose.

  • Deep ruby-purple; a pure colour - with colour right to the edges.
Thickish black fruits on he note with some pencil shavings, sour cherry, maybe some liquorice and a touch of menthol.
Cassis initially in the mouth, with some blackberry. Plump fruits but with a sour edge. pronounced tannins - a little raw and stalky - but despite that there is a very soft texture. Later the sour fruit becomes more noticeable - more Italian-like

  • Balanced, but not complex and strait forward. In the the drinking window now.
