Tasted from winelist at Chez Joel in Chicago, a great value, ideal accompaniment to the bistro entrees, Bright garnet colored, medium bodied, tangy black berry and black currant and plum fruits, floral and notes of anise and cedar, dry with cloying tannins on the long finish.
Last bottle 18 months ago. That bottle was a little disappointing. Cold blueberries. Now there is a hint of tertiary aromas starting to show. Forest floor. Birch bark. Slightly mushroomy. Zero sweetness. Improving but still more of an “interesting” wine than a tasty one. Weak but velvety tannins, acid low
