  • Drank side by side with a 1982 Lascombes accompanying a roast leg of lamb. I wasn't expecting much from this, as the vintage has been panned. It wasn't up the 82 level, but was surprisingly good. Clearly on the downslope but still in balance. Fruit still there with evolved tannins. Classic old bordeaux. No rating, but certainly an enjoyable wine. In fact, our guest preferred it to the 82.

  • Opened for a friend's B'day. Light in color and over the peak. Common old Bordeaux noses and tastes, herbal and earthy. Tannin built up in 30mins and then the wine faded away in an hour. Paid $40 for it. A good experiece and a good occassion to open it.

  • Dark carmine. Mature and attractive bouquet. Firm and full bodied wine with liquorice, vanilla and caramel in the aftertaste. Now at a perfect drinking stage, but will stay there for a few years.
