Sister in law brought for celebration. Scent and taste of apple, pear, bread, lemon and lemon zest, buttered toast and nougat. Flavour very full. A nice Champagne.

Disgorged on 26/10/2019, 2015 base. Medium copper golden colour. Deep nose of honeycomb, bread crust, brioche, bruised apple underlined by hints of smoke and chalk. Medium body with fine round structure, broad on the palate, very good mouthfeel, long mineral length. Vinous and very food-friendly. Very nice Blanc de Noirs Champagne that seems to benefit from a few years of bottle ageing.

Uno champagne piacevole e divertente, dall’ottimo rapporto q/p.

Best bottle of this cuvee I’ve had. This was a 750ml, but I’ve had 375ml and 1500ml as well. Where in the other bottles one aspect would be more high-toned and make it a little out of balance, this bottle everything was harmonious.
Lots of lemon on the nose with toast and vanilla. Palate was yeasty with the vanilla and lemon. Add in some boozy red fruit and chalk. This is vinous, med + in body but acid keeps it fresh. Balanced and complex.

Mainly driven by green apple, lemon zest and some hints of pear. Underlying chalky minerality, little surplus of acidity. Works well as entry level champagne

Vanilla and toasted notes on the nose. This champagne didn't blow me away, but I definitely believe it is worth the price. You can taste the quality and complexity of this bottle. It was delightful. It tastes of lemon, honey, and yeast. This bottle checks all the boxes. A great-looking bottle on the shelf and a good-looking tasting bottle in the glass.

Beautiful light- to medium copper golden colour. Pear, shy raspberry, strawberry, and red cherry notes, light stemmy floral notes, almond paste, bread crust, brioche, and just a hint of smoke, with good acidity and great persistence. The mousse is fine and perceived as creamy. Light on its feet, with beautiful balance. A lovely champagne! Much better than a bottle I had about three years ago.

Veldig god og godt priset NV 100% pinot. Tre år på bunnfall før gogging. Litt lavere syre (6g/l) og mer sukker (6g/l) enn Silver Brut. Pent typeriktig, kremet/kjeksete frukt, hint av nyrørte bringebær, mineraler. Fresh til å være BdN.

Grapefruit on the nose and on the palate with the slight bitter grapefruit skin. Very average champagne. Not sure if the bitterness is a good thing, at least it is different. Different can also be boring.

#2 Cata Amics Porreres - Champagne: The wine looks yellow gold colored. It smells like lemon, pomelo, apricot, peach, pineapple, mineral, stoniness, baker's yeast, toast and leesy. The body is medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium+ acidity.

Medium straw. Crumply apple, almonds, pears, brioche. The palate showing great balance and elegance as well as excellent intensity with steely minerality. I cellared this bottle in my cellar over one and a half summers since september 2021 with temperatures rising up to 19° C in summer, lowest temperatures 15° C. And I like it more than a year ago. 5/13/17/9. 93 and 94 points from suckling and Falstaff. -2024 if perfectly cellared since release.

Charleston VII; 11/2/2022-11/6/2022 (Charleston, SC (various locations)): Gift from a friend back in 2018 so this has some years of age on it although you would not know it to taste it. Lots of acid. Very fresh and bright. Not in the league of the Cristal/Krug but a nice palate cleanser towards the end of the meal and I always like to end on bubbles.

Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs, 20% of the blend is reserve wine that has been aging in oak casks. Served from a magnum. No details on the base vintage or disgorgement date. 12% alcohol, 8 g/l residual sugar and 9,4 g/l acidity.
Quite youthful pale yellow color. Ripe and quite toasty nose with aromas of chopped nuts and slivered almonds, some smoky notes, a little bit of ripe citrus fruits, light bruised apple tones, a hint of marzipan and a bready touch of autolysis. The wine feels ripe and rather broad-shouldered on the palate with a quite full body and bold flavors of slivered almonds, some bruised apple, a little bit of ripe citrus fruit, light bready notes of autolysis, a hint of chalky minerality and a touch of some vague red fruit. Despite its size and ripeness, the wine retains great sense of acidity, making it come across as rather firm and structured. The medium-long mousse feels quite fine and gentle. The finish is ripe, moderately long and slightly sweet-toned with flavors of juicy citrus fruits, some ripe and slightly bruised red apple, a little bit of nutty autolysis, light bready tones, a crunchy hint of white currant and a touch of fresh raspberry-driven red fruit.
This is consistently a great budget Champagne that punches above its weight. It's as big and toasty as one can expect from a Blanc de Noirs, but at the same time enjoyably fresh, precise and structured. It might lack the finesse and complexity of its more prestigious peers, but at its price point it definitely delivers value for the money. At 74,90€ for a magnum, this is a good purchase.

Fine bead, creamy mousse. Lots of savoury, leesy, mature cheese/mushroom/fungal notes in this. Very much a food Champagne rather than a drink-alone aperitif.
Not bad, but I think it would be better if there was more prominent fruit character to balance the savouriness.

DG ??/20?? Nose is a bit musty, almost like coconut husk, with some challah bread and vanilla custard. Palate is initially very bubbly (might have been my crazy driving ; ) but after it settles down it is quite nice with more challah, raspberries and cream, almond butter and a lime zest finish. Really nice on its own and actually quite good with BBQ (!)

Disgorged on 01/02/2019. 2015 base. Decanted for about an hour. Serious old-fashioned Champagne that needs to be regarded as a real wine, not a modern bubbly drink. Baked apple, sour dough and strawberry hints on the nose. Medium body, broad on the palate, very long finish. Food-friendly wine.

A very interesting study in rich, broody, blanc de noirs, the Andre Clout Grand Reserve is for the lovers of big-shouldered Champagne. The power of Bouzy's Pinot Noir really comes through, giving nuts, baked-apples, and raspberries on the nose. If I had to use a metaphor, both aromatically and on the palate, the wine is autumnal, subdued, and expansive - a far cry from tighter, mineral-driven Champagne with higher percentages of white grapes. Overall quite good and interesting, albeit missing some balance, it could use some more freshness and elegance. Chartogne Taillet's Cuvee St Anne tasted alongside it really brightened the room!

Medium golden colour, with fine perlage. Yellow fruit, red apple, citrus, biscuit, brioche, nuts and smoke, with creamy mousse, good acidity and good length of the lemony and slightly sugary finish. Only average concentration. An aperitif-style champagne. In Clouet’s range, I prefer the more generous and rewarding Grand Cru Silver Brut Nature N.V. for a crisp style, and the V6 Experience for a rich style.

We’ve tried this cuvée several times; it’s not our favourite, but in this case we were surprised to find it in the wine list of a restaurant in the mountains in northern Spain and decided to give it another chance. It was a pleasant surprise. On the nose, a lot of very present pinot noir-based red fruits such as cranberries, blackberries, raspberries, wild strawberries, and ripe citrus fruits such as lemons, slightly bitter grapefruit, some dried peaches and plums; green and black tea, on the finish some metallic notes from the inox vinification, sun-dried raisins, and some mushroominess. Vinous texture and balanced acidity with the present but not overwhelming dosage. Not complex but pleasant, it worked in a simple dinner. 89pt

Medium gold color. Rich, autolytic nose dominated by fresh baked biscuits, but there’s also something unusual that’s hard to place but kind of smells like—and this is going to sound weird—chili powder. Not sure what to make of that. On the palate, there’s a nice contrast between a luxurious and creamy mousse and very bright, bracing citrus acidity, somewhere between lemon and tangerine. Delicious. I like that it’s not quite in either the light, bright camp or the rich, yeasty camp. Good tension. I bought this in early 2018, but I’m not sure about the disgorgement date or what vintage it’s based on as none of that info is provided.

Hmmm - a champagne that I am a bit torn on. It was served before dinner as a pre-dinner sipper and on the heels of something that was a bit softer and gentler and so the transition was somewhat jarring. This is higher acid, slightly more coarse in style. And yet later in the evening as we sat down and were drinking it with bites it was in a much better spot. I suspect I would have quite liked it on it's own as a starter or perhaps immediately with food.

I have professed my allegiance to Mailly Grand Cru as my preferred everyday champagne (my wife is a huge fan as well--such a fan that she insisted we name our dog "Mailly"). Yet I have also declared my adoration for the town of Bouzy and the champagnes that are produced there. While I prefer the wines of Paul Clouet, the wines of André Clouet (there is a relation, but it's a bit fuzzy) are fantastic as well. This Grande Réserve, the main production of the house, is impressive. Tree fruit aromas (pear, green apple) and more nutty than yeasty, I would guess that it has a relatively high dosage as it comes off a tad sweet. Still, this is wonderfully balanced, has a vibrant sparkle, and a lengthy finish. This is creeping up on our beloved Mailly, but it still has a ways to go. thedrunkencyclist.com

This is very complex for a NV bottling, this Grand Cru Reserve appears to have undergone extensive aging on the lees. Lemon, yeast, hazelnut, graham cracker, asian spices. The palate is very dry, with high acidity, medium alcohol (12%) and great gravitas and richness thanks to the Pinot Noir. Drink now.

I received this bottle in 2014, so it had 4 years of bottle age. Drank on christmas eve along side a younger bottle of the same wine. This older bottle had darker color and more intense notes. Lots of red apples. It was the preferred choice by most guests and showed that old is better.

As someone noted in another tasting note, this has tremendous complexity for an NV champagne. Delicate dancing bubbles in the glass that were mesmerizing...at least to me. Light golden-yellow core giving way to greenish hue on the rim. The nose was dried tart apples, lemon zest, pineapple, honeysuckle and gardenia florals, and buttered toast. The aromatics were pouring out of the glass...really nice! A concentrated and evolved palates actually delivered some red fruits (a hint of currant - my guess is thanks to the Pinot Noir) with some lemon meringue, brioche, almonds, and apples. It is full bodies and rich but has the right amount of crisp acidity and minerality to make it lively and fun. It's really excellent and likely has a couple more years though the community here says it likely will reach peak in 2018. I say another 2-3 years is likely.

Raiding City Winery (Chicago, IL): This is a really solid bottle of entry-level champagne. There's a touch of bread on the nose, as well as some moderate bruised apple. The palate is quite similar, and there's a nice density here that you don't often find in wines at this level. It clearly shows some kinship to the 1911, but is lighter, less concentrated and potent, and comes across a little more bright and cheerful.

Suprised by how well this was drinking, probably because it had gone a couple of years since disgorgement. Found nowhere to tell from the bottle but it has at least been in my possession since 18 months or so. There are flowers (jasmine perhaps), brioche, orange rind, grapefruit and milk chocolate here. Very good, with a fullness and power to be suitable with food.

Been drinking this wine for years. Recently tried the silver label, lacked richness. The GR is a pinot driven wine, full bodied, plump. This may be the recent cuvee, unimpressive. Good mousse, creaminess, biscuit. Wine is ready, lacks sufficient acid to balance and age further. Full, somewhat sweet mouthfeel, above average finish. For me, the wine is flabby, lacking in structure, verve, complexity. If this were a pinot noir, I would offer a label analogy, will refrain. I drank it over 2 nights, consistent impressions. It was unexciting. I liked it less than the Pol Roger that I found too simple but well made structurally. Can't recall how I've scored other underwhelming champagnes recently. This is better than Piper (would probably move that down a point after tasting this and pegging a score) and much better than the Heidsieck Blue Top. I won't be buying it again soon since it was 20% pricier than either of those. I started to check "I don't like it". Issue is I don't like it for the price which was $40. I'm willing to pay more than this, expect more. This failed the value test.

Pinot Noir Blanc de Noirs, served from a double magnum. Doesn't state it is Grand Cru, but apparently all the fruit is sourced from the GC Bouzy vineyards.
Medium deep yellow color. Brooding, rich and moderately developed nose with quite a lot of toast, some oxidative nuttiness, a little bit of baked apple and a hint of ripe yellow apple. Full-bodied and dark-toned on the palate with lots of toasty brioche autolysis flavors, baked apple, some chalky minerality, a little bit of oxidative, almond-driven nuttiness and a hint of cherry-driven red fruit. High acidity gives the wine good focus and structure. Very fine, creamy mousse. The finish is long and mouth-cleansing with chalky minerality and dark-toned flavors of toasty autolysis, roasted hazelnuts, some lemony citrus fruits and more bitter pink grapefruit, a little bit of steely brightness, a hint of brioche and a touch of yeasty French bread.
A terrific Blanc de Noirs that embraces the weighty, dark-toned and slightly oxidative quality of Bouzy Pinot Noir, yet manages to coax out some stunning freshness, acidity and minerality of the fruit. Consistently one of the overachievers in its relatively modest price range - although this time the wine was noticeably more expensive than normal (199€) due to the Jeroboam size. All in all, this wine is not really much about elegance; this is a big and burly Champagne for the fans of the really toasty and nutty style. Great stuff.

Once again an effective champagne, exuberant and a bit flamboyant. All it is about the nose, almost. Complex aromas of limestone, nuts or orange peel are easy to find. I really appreciate that harmonic style and the way the champagne gives at the same time proper power and finesse. It let a beautiful legs on the glass. Rusty bitterness on the palate is fine but can't match that nose. Served within at restaurant Lúa in Madrid, where a Galician chef from Orense has only one reference of Ribeiro in the wine list. At least regrettable.

From Magnum. Really delicious, crowd-pleasing, easy-drinking yet bright, zesty and complex. Nothing too bready or savoury on the aroma, this is all racy citrus fruits and strawberries. Great staying power and focus on the palate. Top value.

Munskänkarna Göteborg Champagne-class, session 9, flight 2.
I prefer this one to the brut nature. Classic Pinot-dominated champagne. Fresh, balanced with green apples. Perhaps a little short, but good balance and fruit.

Champagne Flight (Tofino Wines, San Francisco): Straw colored. Transiently effervescent. Very oxidative nose. Big creamy feel, grilled nuts but reasonably lively. Not completely clean and short finish. I don't care for this at all.

Medium(-) yellow, numerous small bubbles enamating at high rate in a continuous string of pearls. Medium(-) aromas of lemon, pear and yeast notes. Slightly off-dry, medium(+) acidity, low alcohol @12%, medium body. Medium flavors of sweet apple, lemon, brioche. Clean good length with dry finish despite sweetness upfront. Rich soft pluche mousse.

Fragrant and open on the nose - notes of red apples, chalk, flowers, nuts. On the palate very elegant and smooth. Rather subtle notes of fruit, minerality, well integrated acidity, fine perlage. Smooth and quite long. Excellent. 91-93

English sparkling vs Champagne: Tasted blind. Again, very frothy, lots of schampoo like bubbles. But how different from the rest of the pack! Lots of clean white fruits. Mild and elegant, BdB style champagne. I thought it was Jacquesson 738, couldn't believe that 100% PN could taste like that. I wonder how long was post disgorgement time.

I bought a case of this back in 2010 and this was sadly our last bottle. This wine has served us very well as André Clouët is one of my favorite producers in Bouzy. I have said many times that if it says “Bouzy” on the label, I am probably going to like it. Along with Aÿ, I put Bouzy at the top of the list of Pinot Noir communes on the Montagne de Reims and it’s wines rarely let me down: the wines are structured, deep, and with plenty of backbone, more of a wine for a meal then an apéritif. Firmly in my wheelhouse. thedrunkencyclist.com

Drank with Christmas Eve dinner. The aspect that most appealed to me of this wine was the mouth feel. The bubbles were small and not aggressive as in many a champagne. it felt like a truly elegant champagne and is a definite bargain. Having recently drunk the silver label Clouet, I would say I prefer the silver, non dosage version. This is more a reflection of my palate and not the wine. They both are very fine wines.

delicious NV blanc des noirs from Andre Clouet which seduces with its rich minerality and its perfectly balanced acidity and hints of citrus. The tyypical Pinot Noir cepage clearly emerges. Top QPR at 22 Eur. Best paired with Scampi nature with Matt. Drink at 11 C°

Wow, what a lovely champagne. I tasted a lot of brioche and biscuit amongst crunchy golden green apples. A lovely length of acidity and powerful flavour that continues to play long after consumption make this a great treat. For $59 it is very well priced for a Pinot Noir champagne!

I bought a case of this several years ago and this is the next to last bottle. It has been a year or so since we have this wine and it has been great from the jump. This bottle, however, has taken on a bit of age and is phenomenal. A bit sherried, but full of brioche and depth. I might have to give this a whoa. thedrunkencyclist.com

A surprising stand out wine. A golden straw colour (longer aging than required). There is extreme depth but also a precision. Yellow fruits and almond, but balanced with a minerality. A rich completely mouth filling wine (blanc de noir) echoing the yellow fruits, a long focused finish.

Excellent for its modest price tag, the Clouet family has been farming their vineyards in Bouzy and Ambonnay since 1751. The Grande Réserve Brut Grand Cru is their entry-level label and it offers a classic profile of apple skins, red berries and a faint whiff of toast. The profile is clean, and nicely balanced with some creaminess upfront offset by chalky minerality at the finish. Great persistence, I would certainly buy it again.

Inviting Bouqet of citrus notes, yeast, smoke, quite a bit of sour bread dough and a bit of cotton candy. On the palate super crisp and refreshing; could drink this all day long on a hot summers day. Loads of zingy green apples, green apple peel, lemon, lemon zest, good amount toastiness. Also a bit of saltyness. Huge mousse, vibrant acidity and good minerality. Intense finish and a persistent aftertaste. This surely is a value Champagne. A very good `Blanc de Noirs`. Me likey.

Wines That Don't Suck (WTDS) Offline (Joan's in the Park, St. Paul, MN): Light gold color. Drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. Very nice with lots of apple on the nose and just enough minerality. The palate is also filled with apple, delicate, hints of pear, light minerality. A very nice aperitif.

An excessibe [sic] balla [sic] afternoon at Domaine (Chicago, IL): From magnum. This was a very apple-inflected Champagne with a good dose of both green and red apples on the nose. The palate is slightly austere but also has the same apple quality. A really easy-going bottle that ought to scratch the Champagne itch when it hits.

Consumed on New Year's eve with friends and neighbors. Lighter style nose and initial flavors of apples and pears, good acidity, relatively short finish, plentiful small bubbles. Somewhat disappointed that the wine became more diffuse and less interesting as it warmed up. Some actually preferred the Gruet Blanc de Noirs (NV) that we opened as a second bottle.

The wine is clear and bright with a pale lemon colour and many small bubbles. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of dough, toast, butter, walnuts, and green fruit (pear, green apple). The wine is off-dry with a medium(+) refreshing acidity. It has a medium alcohol and a medium body with a creamy mousse. It has pronounced intensity flavours of dough, toast, butter, walnuts and green apple. The finish is medium(+).
It is a very good quality wine. It has a great flavour concentration and a very decent finish. It shows some degree of complexity provided by autolytic notes, but not enough to make it outstanding. Can drink now, but it has enough acidity and flavour concentration to develop more complex tertiary aromas in 2-3 years after disgorgement.

A very good non vintage champagne. Dégorgée 2009 Light yellow. Nice mousse. Apples, citrus, bread, brioche, a hint of mineral á la oystershells. Nice texture, fresh acidity, good fruit. Balanced. Quite long finish with good flavours. This Champagne will age beautifully over the next 20 years. Jean-Francois Clouet (aka. Jean de France) always deliver. A good tip is to buy his Cuvée 1911 and store for + 10 years. You'll be surprised how good it is. I've tried a Cuvée 1911 wich was stored 15 years and I was amazed and very happy with that glass of Champagne.
Very neutral pale green color. Initially rather closed nose with aromas of very ripe citrus fruits, some autolytic nuttiness and and a bit of bruised apple. However, the nose gains some obvious weight in the glass, becoming more expressive with aromas of sliced spicy red apples, sweeter baked apples, some roasted nuts and a bit of caramel. The wine is medium-bodied and surprisingly tightly-knit on the palate, considering how rich and complex it is with layered flavors of very ripe red apples, almost honeyed sweetness (although the wine is almost bone-dry), some honeydew melon, a little bit of cooked cream, light red-fruited character, a hint of French bread autolysis and a touch of roasted nuts. Overall the wine feels much more complex and impressive on the palate than what the nose led to expect. The mousse is very ample, almost robust and quite persistent. The finish is very long, mineral and mouth-puckering with pronounced steely minerality, high acidity and flavors of crisp green apples, even some apple peel bitterness, a little bit of oxidative bruised apple, a hint of roasted nuts and a touch of browned butter.
My first experience with this particular wine and I'm pretty impressed. Although starting off rather nondescript and closed, the wine turned out to be quite a powerhouse with incredible complexity, very sophisticated touch of nutty oxidation and really attractive autolytic notes of bread and butter. A textbook example of a big Blanc de Noirs. Really good value at only 35,50€, making the wine quite an overachiever in its price point. Need to get more of this.

Private Dinning: Miguel's group plus Nello and Vicky (El Triciclo - Madrid): Despite those flute glasses, all is about aroma here. Pinot Noir and Pinot Mugnier influence are so frank and direct. Aromas of pastry shop and meringue pie. Also citrus peel. No echoes on the palate but nose is good enough go enjoy this bottle. Pairing assorted desserts at El Triciclo in Madrid.
Maridando algunos postres variados.

Ah Bouzy, how I love thee--back when I started getting into champagne, I adopted the town of Bouzy as my own--I am not quite sure why, but it certainly was based in the fact that it was a Pinot Noir town. Every time I open a bottle of wine from Bouzy, I am taken back to the time that I first fell in love with champagne and I jump for joy. Outstanding. 90-92 Points.

I've never been terribly fond of the Clouet NV's, I find them pretty crude and unnuanced. This time, I'm thinking I'll have to reconsider my standpoint. The wine is not subtle, but nonetheless satisfyingly rich medium body, good structure, aromas w brioche, hazelnut, and a nice mouthfeel. Nose is still unremarkable, but this is good value.

This review is of the current disgorgement commercially available as of August 2013.
This is a good NV and as a wine I much prefer to it's more expensive vintage stablemate. The nose gives oyster shell and lemon pith, with a fine persistent bead.
There is a complex biscuit character across the palate that is well complemented by nectarine fruit, with a sherbert like acidity that gives great length and drive to finish. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2013-2015)

This is not a very good Champagne in mine opinion. It’s out of balance, with too much acidity vs. fruit. Mainly tart lemon and tight, with too much crisp to sing. The palate is to simple, lacking minerals and complexity.

A few years ago, this was a brilliant Champagne in its class, but something has certainly happened. Tonight the Grand Réserve was approachable and paired nicely to the food, but the impression I get is one-dimensional and a bit "sticky". It is actually as the prodcuer wants to acheive something but does not reach the final goal. The nose offers too much toast, too little acidity and a mid-palate being a bit thin. Overall impression is that of a likeable and absolutely drinkable wine, but the "ooohmpf" from previous tastings is gone. (Compare this TN to previous TNs on cuvée 1911 which a tremendously better wine.)

The nose is a bit subdued, but nevertheless showing elements of crisp apple, lemon freshener, honey, and warm sourdough bread. The palate diverges initially, opening with hints of mixed tropical fruit and roasted nuts. The mid-palate is somewhat weak, as hints of nuts and yeast lack the same body as the initial flavors. The finish recovers with length and verve as tart lemon/lime and saline arise. The wine carries medium body with a fine, persistent bead. While this is fairly shallow and mid-palate deficient, its strong finish and enjoyable nature would appeal to many. R&M 86

Thursday Night at Chris' (Chris' House): Popped and poured, followed over approximately an hour. Served single blind along side the Henriot. In the glass, this was much lighter in colour, appearing incredibly youthful. Contrary to the appearance, this was rather mature on the nose, showing lightly bruised apple, caramel, yeast, citrus and hazelnut. On the palate, light citrus, bruised apple, mineral, roasted nuts, with moderate acidity, although less than the Henriot, leading to a moderate finish.

Rich and concentrated, yet surprisingly elegant considering it is 100% Pinot Noir. Complex, with biscuity, baked apples, and spice notes with a honeyed finish. The NV Brut Grande Reserve offers up layers of mineral-infused red fruits on a silky, mid-weight frame, with gorgeous length and a refined, subtle mousse. Whole-grain bread, malt and candied berry aromas and flavors highlight this intense yet creamy Champagne, which picks up a floral accent as it cruises to a long, mouthwatering finish. This impeccable, elegant wine shows terrific overall balance as well as complexity. I loved it. Andre Clouet is based in Bouzy, a village where Pinot Noir speaks with great eloquence, as is evident in these superb, pedigreed Champagnes.
André Clouet is maybe the only vintner outside of Charles Heidsieck who has managed to produce a non-vintage blend that varies from year to year the way great vintages do, but still expresses a consistent and bold house style. And although Champagne only vintages in qualified years, André Clouet creates years of its own, all apparently heavily influenced by the tart 1996 vintage.

Color light golden yellow of moderate saturation, fine mousse. Aromas and flavors of baked tart apples and pears, bits of spice, touches of citrus, dried ginger (without the crystallized sugar coating), and minerals. Despite my descriptors characterizing what one might think of as a heavier Brut, this stays agile via medium-high acidity and minerals chanting through a fairly short, dry finish. Acidity was great for pairing with Hackleback sturgeon caviar, but the flavor combination was just OK. No score due to recovery from cold, but in excellent range. VG value at 34.

Una botella más de este seguro que no falla. Cobrada a 45€ en Cascabel (PuntoMX).
Limpio y definido, welcome to the pinot noir of Bouzy. Con elegancia, como siempre. Sin ser pomposo a base de bollería y levaduras: gracias.
Fresco, especiado, calizo y muy rico.
Funcionó perfectamente con casi todos los platos de la cena gracias a ese espinazo de acidez y frescura.

Light yellow.

Introduction to France Tasting (Prince Wine Store - Essendon): The nose is quite yeasty, with stewed apples and the palette while acidic, also has pretty florals and honey pollen with a relaxed mouthfeel and a quite intense mineral finish.

Pale straw in color. Fine mousse and strong bead. Peach, flowers and minerals on the nose. Soft and smooth on the palate. Lacking acidity, but went well with a nice Sunday brunch of Greek specialties. Peach, minerals and toast on a balanced palate. Served slightly warm. Would have been nice if the waiter had actually looked to see if there was some ice in the bucket and not just tepid water.

I used to think this was pretty good but now it's been a few years since I last tasted it. The bottles consumed over the summer have been raw, short and with violent mousse. Drinkable but will not buy it again.

A disappointing wine... Careful nose and a dry, somewhat oaky finish. I really liked it before, but not now. 84-85 p.

No real notes taken but overal a good impression.
A pretty good nose but kind of singular on the palate. Mostly a lot of lemon with a slightly bitter aftertaste that however is quite fitting. Good acidity and overall a solid wine with good QPR.

Rather rich and fruity on the nose with honeyed florals, red and green apple and slight toast character.
Dry and balanced medium bodied palate showing some fruity sweetness. Lively but eventually rather soft moussé. Like classy ginger ale with some chestnut, chalk and mushroomy earthiness. Medium length.
Rather lighthearted, but serious at the same time. Nice.

Fine golden color with tight, tiny bubbles. A touch of brioche toast on the nose that leads into some fruit or floral aromas. On the palate, ripe fruit with a hint of raspberry or strawberry. Finishes with good length and nice soft acid throughout.

A fresh nose of peaches with a kaffir-lime-leaf line though it. The palette is very integrated and solid with quite high acidity, but with big citrus notes to balance it out. The finish is quite nutty and interesting.

nose: fresh and brighter nose of lemon peels, citrus', bits of baking spices, apples and a touch of spiced pears
taste: very good medium feel with fresh and lively tones of pears, apples, baking spices and a good bit of citrus tones along with medium/high acidity that lets itself be known
overall: an excellent champagne. Fresh and lighter with good acidity and a nice mousey feel to it. Lacking a bit of depth on the mid palate that would really propel this, its still a very enjoyable bubbly with a nice citrusy finish

Bra Champagne!
