Epic Bordeaux for an Epic Birthday!; 9/1/2021-9/12/2021 (Paris & Bordeaux): Alas this bottle bore a strong resemblance to a wine we opened last weekend (Guasti Dry California Champagne which was misnamed in many ways that didn't include Guasti or California). At auction you win some and you lose some.

Acker's Post-COVID BYO, Dinner and Auction Simulcast (Craft - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Tasted shortly after the 76 and 69, this was the most mature, with breadier character. Still with very good depth, good length and hints of fruit, but only exciting if you're a particular fan of mature Champagne, with I rarely am.

A highly evolved bottle with significant oxidation, yet displaying sufficient remaining golden fruit and soil tones to be rewarding. Long finish here.

Golden apples and pear notes. Both lightly sweet and oxidative with a mild acid finish

HDH Dinner (Les Nomades): Quite a bit of sherry. Perhaps not the best example.
