Hints of petrol and citrus populate the nose, with notes of lemon drop candy, necatarine, mango, and sea salt commingling on the palate. Lively acidity and a skosh of minerality keep things in check. Lovely.

PETROL! then with a bit of aeration, classic grapefruit lychee mangosteen on a prickly light body. very moreish. day 2 with air and swirling, a little deeper and more textural: mineral, lemon peel and lots of passion fruit. will love watching this develop I think. 1 of 6

Tasted at the wine house in Bernkastel. Very, very pale golden color in the glass. Nose and palate of lemon drops, citrus peel, honey, and melted butter. Light effervescence on the initial taste. Strong alcoholic bite with a medium finish. Very young. Needs time to balance everything out in the bottle. Should improve with age.

White pear, white melon and nectarine on the nose. Between light and medium bodied (8.5% ABV) with melon and grapefruit upfront, moving to pear and apricot through the middle. Nice background citrus notes, coupled with very good acidity behind provide contrast and balance. Doesn't have quite the density or complexity of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr from last night, but felt closer to a traditional Kabinett. Minerals, acidity and tart citrus provide length through the finish. Showed its best on the cooler side which emphasized its strengths. I'll plan to open my next bottle in Summer 2024.

Full bodied, lighter than the spatlese, dry, melon, mango, slightly burnt, a little earthy.
