My first OV! I never thought a wine could smell like petrol/diesel and taste so good - you somehow lose the fuel notes once you start drinking it. There is a lot of acidity, some found it almost too much at first, but it grows on you. Layers of flavour - citrus and apple, and a lingering finish that leaves you thirsty for more.
We had it with a 2018 regular Tantalus Riesling. The regular is notably sweeter than the OV, but still offers great flavours. I preferred the OV for its bite, my better half preferred the regular Riesling for its sweet attributes. They are both great wines.
I’m not a big white wine drinker and think either of the wines would be great to share with people that are steadfast red folks.

Pale yellow colour. On the nose, notes of petroleum, green apple, lime, pineapple and some honeysuckle. Rather dry with a light-medium body with a crisp acidity. It has almost an effervescence in the mouth with green apple, pear, unripe pineapple, lime and lots of minerality, almost briny. Notes of honey on the medium finish. Great!

Wine of the Year by BC Lieutenant Governor’s Awards 2021. Slightly darker than pale lemon with noticeable petulance on the glass. Classic Riesling aromas of petrol, crushed gravel, blossoms & apples. On the palate, full bodied citrus, lemon/lime, green fruit/green apple, unripe stone fruit, floral/blossoms, electrifying acidity & a long finish to spice/white pepper & chalky minerality. This is excellent wine!
