One of two BdM consumed with neighbors with dinner of a 5Marys roast, roasted potatoes, roasted okra and tomato. I think this was everyone's preference over the Argiano, but only slightly. Both were rounder than the last bottles, with a riper, almost younger feeling. A little tomato leaf taste prior to eating, so that was the wine. Strangely seemed less evolved than the last bottle.

We had a really amazing rib eye from our friends at 5Marys that I reverse seared on the grill, leaving the inside still on the rare side of medium rare, so it was sort of bistecca fiorentina style. That called for Brunello, and I'm trying to preserve some of the '10s for maximum maturity. No problem cracking '12s which I don't think will be age-worthy in that same way. This was really delicious, with a nose of tart cherry and sandalwood, elegant tannins and vibrant acidity on the palate, again picking up cherry notes, with some 2ary leather and dusty notes. Excellent.

We served this after a 5-hour decant, and it was noticeably better than the previous bottle...quite good. I'll probably wait a couple of years to open the next bottle.

Undistinguished after a 3-hour decant. A couple of hours later, at the end of the bottle, it presented itself as a delicious, classic Brunello. My conclusion: wait a few more years, or give it a much longer decant.

Drinking nicely. Not complex but good QPR.
