  • Audouze for Riesling ? It certainly worked here with the initial impression was of tiredness and possible oxidation but with a couple of hours this opened beautifully. Overnight in the fridge brought even more purity and complexity with a deep green gold colour and a delicious bouquet of lime, white cherry and nectarine, custard apple, white flowers and stones. The palate reflected the purity of the fruit with real density and purity balanced by a whip of acidity and stony minerality. There is excellent persistence and complexity that belies the year and the reputation of the maker. A real surprise and a lesson in enjoying riesling from a great terroir.

  • Opens with a slight petrol nose, which I don't care for, but this subsided with time. Fairly complex with stone fruit and minerals. Long finish. Enjoyable for its price point.

  • This is probably one of the finest Kabinett that a person can find. Tropical fruits, stone fruits, lush and aromatic. Great balance so never coying. Long finish. 93-94

  • This wine remains a deep green gold colour with a delicious bouquet of lime, white cherry, nectarine, custard apple and stones with a zippy palate of intense fruit leading in to a mineral finish with a strong whip of acidity to balance the fruit. Delicious yet not for the long haul.

  • This wine initially looked worryingly dark and the nose seemed closed but with aeration the wine while remaining quite deeply green gold was a more correct colour and showed a lovely nose of white nectarine, lime zest, custard apple, Granny-Smiths and slate. The palate has plenty of zesty fruit and a core of rich texture balanced by that whip of acidity and slate driven minerality. A very decent Kabinett from a difficult vintage.
