Narrow texture - Started balanced with oak and citrus notes equilibrating each other. Acidity became more noticeable as it warmed and detracted from the overall experience. Otherwise, a restrained and slightly elegant wine with unexpectedly modest finish. Appeals to those who may be put off by "big" chards.

As with the 2010, crisp fruit flavours (think lightly-flavoured mineral water) clashed with a caramel/glycerin oak character. The fruit and oak were slightly better-integrated than the 2010; the nose gave the impression of baked fruitcake, with apricot, lemon zest and brown sugar.
