  • Medium gold color; Medium plus intensity aromas of peach, pineapple, banana, marzipan, brioche, butter, hint of acacia; dry with medium plus acid, full body and medium alcohol, long finish; outstanding wine with complex structure and specific integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary notes.

  • Barolo theme: Poured as an aperitif. Dead ringer for a Burgundy, full of zesty citrus fruits and a serious backbone of acidity, not overly ripe and round at all. One of the most impressive new-world Chards that I have tried, better than Kumeu River certainly. Just had a reductive smell to it that took a long while to dissipate in the glass.

  • This is a tasty Chardonnay with lovely structure and mouthfeel and genuine zest in its white peach, nectarine and Nashi pear profile. There is good minerality on the finish but there is just a touch of glossiness and sweetness that detracts from the final sense of balance and refreshment.

  • Tasted blind along with 2014 Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Virondot, 2013 Kongsgaard Chardonnay, 2012 Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Stones and 2014 Vasse Felix Heytesbury Chardonnay.

    Clear, medium intensity, lemon color.
Youthful nose with medium(+) intensity. Initially a bit tight showing mostly yellow apple, slight tropical fruit, butter and discrete oak. Given around 30 minutes in the glass it really comes together with more pronounced yellow fruit, well-balanced expensive oak and crushed stones. Elegant and refined nose.

Medium bodied with medium(+) acidity. Kind of sleek and steely mouthfeel with medium(+) intensity of flavors. Mostly yellow apples, tart tropical fruit and oak coming through. Slight bitterness and warmth from the alcohol on the finish.

A very good wine but far(r) too young today that needs time to broaden out and reach more harmony. In tonight's company it had a hard time to really shine.
