Did very little decanting. Opened to mid level depth in fruit from the beginning. After about two hours there was a drying effect. Acids were somewhat out of whack but not so much that it still wasn’t enjoyable. But certainly drink now since it is on the downhill slide. Too many herbal notes.

Decanted off the sediment and the wine looked just a tiny bit of a warmer red but still deep and fresh looking. The bouquet was tarry and rubbery. Initially I thought this may be a problem. I double decanted back I to the bottle and began consuming it about 90 minutes later. With some aerating and swirling, that rubbery bouquet began to dissipate to almost completely gone. The wine was alright my high in acidity. The oak was white recessed. Still bright once that tarry aspect dissipated. Dried fruit and black fruit. A bit of leather. Quite enjoyable but not my top BV Private Reserve experience. May be a better wine ten years ago.

Nice wine; just too high in acid for my pallet

decanted off sediment and back into bottle an hour before bringing to dinner. Heat damaged, and a mess unfortunately.
