  • Bottle was stored properly and the cork seemed fine but the bottle was long gone: strong oxidized notes on both nose and palate. Extremely disappointing for an expensive wine that should age well.

  • Aged beautifully! Slight brick red around the edge. Cassis, leather, and chocolate covered cherries on the nose with slight hints of oak. Cherry, chocolate, black raspberry with smooth refined tanins. Can easily age another 5 years. Wish I had more!!!!!!!

  • Dark red with hardly any fading at the edges. Plums, cherries and minerals on the nose. Plush on the palate, black cherries, plums, tobacco, some blackberry. Fine, polished tannins, lovely acidity, perfect balance. Finishes long and gentle. Lovely old cab, subtle and elegant. Still bright. Give it air. This could go another 5 years.

  • Drinking superbly and highly recommend. Our 1st BV GDL PR. Drank at our wine club tasting that Kim & I hosted 7/19/22 in Hickory NC at restaurant BOCA in a flight with 3 other '94 CA cabernet dominant wines. Drink or hold - fully mature so no further upside to cellaring but on the other hand with proper cellaring this still has a few years to go at the top. We recently obtained this bottle as part of a much larger cellar contents purchase. Dark purple, peripheral bricking present, fully integrated, soft mouth feel, medium - full bodied, well integrated oak & soft tannins present and with a lovely lingering aftertaste. Nose soft, dark and complex with dark fruit, kirsch, cedar, lilac and the famed Rutherford dust. Flavor profile of controlled oak up front with soft tannins present through out with dark stone fruit and cassis followed by more secondary flavors of cedar, leather, graphite and smoke.

  • this was a real treat, exceeded my expectations... nice balance of structure and fruit, feels like peak with at least 5 years to go, red fruited
