First of two. Excellent. Slight eucalyptus on the nose with dark fruit. Color was excellent with no bricking on the edges. Still dark and brooding. Smooth with tannins largely integrated. 3.5 hr decant and it needed all of it. Cannot wait to have the second bottle.

45 minutes decant. What a difference from the Hobbs 2005 btk. Great nose. Good concentration and balance. Dark fruit with secondary flavors of tobacco and orange peel. Nice finish no sharp edges. In its window if you like aged California Cabernet

Full body and rounded, dark berries, dark chocolate, smoke, and right balance between acidity and tannins. Very long finish and paired very well with a Rib Eye Steak.
I rarely give points over the average but this is one of those rare cases, I wish I have more of this vintage...

Popped and poured. This is a medium-dark red wine. On the nose, I get mint, black currant, baking chocolate, and a touch of heat at the back of a few glasses. In the mouth, this is lush, with black fruits and some slightly wood-infused mocha. The finish is chewy, with an edge of sweet spice. Overall, this is a rich and structured wine, one that cries out for steak, with well-absorbed tannins. I would suggest keeping the temperature low on the bottle to avoid the alcohol rearing its head. 93 points.

Needed about 30 minutes of air to even out, but then was singing. Drank from magnum.

I didn’t like this wine, I LOVED IT.
