  Excellent Napa Cab !
  Audouze for 3 hours, decanted for 2.
  Drinking well right now, will be good for 10 more.

  I may be shorting this a point or two! I had this as part of a high end Cabernet night with my wine group. It was opened, but not decanted for an hour before pouring. My 2nd favorite of the night. It still tasted youthful, which begs the question, why not drink it young? Very fruit forward, with a beautiful floral and fruit nose you could smell from across the table. Long finish. A treat to drink. The other wines in order: 1997 Chateau Montelena Estate, 2016 Frontier Justice Red Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, 2004 Shafer Hillside Select, 2014 TOR Beckstoffer To Kalon and the 2014 Realm Beckstoffer To Kalon. The Shafer Hillside was my favorite followed closely by the Realm, and Montelena. The Frontier Justice Dr. Crane and the TOR Beckstoffer where just a notch below them.

  This is a serious bottle of wine. Opened for 4.5 hours prior to the beginning of consumption and then poured through a vintorio. Dark red fruit on the nose. The palate was dark cherry, a hint of currents, tree bark, chocolate, and pipe tobacco. The finish was long and lush. We drank it after a 2016 Hobbs Nathan Coombe which paled in comparison. Served with our main course of Roasted Rack of Lamb and it was a perfect accompaniment.

  This wine has it all with its expressive blackberry fruit and crazy complex flavors of licorice, dark chocolate and charcoal. Fruit forward with big juicy tannins but at the same time very structured and firm on the palate. Sweet an drive on the finish but you absolutely must give this wine at least an hour to open up. Expect this wine has another 10-15 years of an active life in the future.
