  At home with some pizza, this one in my cellar from release, circa 2013. PnP, drank half the bottle over 3 hours, the balance the following day.
  
  Medium, clear garnet color, some separation. Nose of dark fruit, tobacco. Plate of black cherry, blueberry, cassis, cocoa, fig and tobacco. Some sweetness through the mid palate. Smooth texture, tannins smoothed and sweetened. Medium body, medium/long finish.
  
  Surprisingly fresh and vibrant - I say that only as expectations for the 2011 vintage have been set lower - but the wines I have had are not reflective of the negative view of the vintage. To be fair, they don't have the tannic structure to go 30+ years (ie 2013s), but this one is in a great spot 13 years in and should drink at this level for a while. I don't think it improves much from here. All in, great wine from a great vintner

  So my good friend (Bockassoc) and his wife came for dinner last night. Michael is the one that got me into wine so I always try to open special wines when they come to dinner as he does for me. So I opened this and a a 2013 Hobbs Dr. Crane.. I opened both bottles 5 hours before they arrived.. Both wines were consumed slowly over a 4 hour period. The main course of the dinner was a roasted turkey that had been brined for 24 hours, roasted squash and a fall salad.
  
  This was the best of the 4 bottles of 2011 Realm BTK's that I have had and it was my preferred wine of the evening. Dark fruit with hints of chocolate on the nose. The palate was dark berries, plums, figs, tobacco, sandalwood and chocolate. The finish was long and smooth.
  The best thing is that we did not finish the bottle so I have some left over for tonight.

  Classic dark fruit with plum, berry, mocha and minerality. Great wine with lingering finish

  Of course the last bottle was the best. Tasting notes clearly spot on. This is blueberry fruit with some currants. I also get cocoa dusted chocolate covered almonds with some Tabacco leaf that morphed with airtime into cocoa and cigar box. Great wine with a lot going on!!

  Not as good as the bottle I had 6 months ago but still a great bottle of wine. Dark fruit on the nose with hints of chocolate. The palate is dark fruit, figs, tree bark and coffee. The finish is long.
