Nicliani Portfolio tasting (Beef bar): The wine shows high intensity, ultra ripe, black fruit, cherries, currants, dense oak, licorice, coffee, chocolate, wood paint, heavily depended in oak, black fruit, fruit in alcohol. Palate showing full body, highly extracted, alcohol heat, wood paint/chemical note again, alcohol burning away (15.50%), very tight tannins, full body, extremely long finish filled with prunes, black cherries/currants and sweet notes from the oak Way too young

It is too young to be rated but if I have to rate this wine as is, I would give it a 96. It has the potential to be a 97+ wine for me. And since we are on the topic of wine reviews, after my experience, I found the Jancis Robinson's review of this wine very perplexing. It is simply nothing like what I experienced.
Beautifully deep and clear red, the wine is exhibiting all the great attributes of a young Barossa shiraz - wonderful nose consisting of dark fruits, plums, herbs and vanilla from the oak. Body right now is dominated by the oak - expresso, mocha and more fruits! But the acid simply refined, racy and gorgeous. Finish is wonderfully long with dried herbs and tannins being quite dominant. The key thing now is that everything is in balance and well proportioned for the long life ahead of it.
Drink in 2040+ but if you must try it now, double decant it for 2+ hours.
