  • Decanted 2hrs. A quintessential western ridge Barossa Shiraz, beautifully balanced. I cannot see this getting any better with an appropriate decant.

  • Wow! This is the most balanced Australian Shiraz I've ever had. Delicate black fruit and black tea, beautiful mouth feel.

  • Drank in London
Incredible depth and still young. A really beautiful wine

  • OMG. Dark, fruit expression, nose was intoxicating, first glass, the wine was so smooth and matched the wagu beef very well. The second glass, a small amount of tannins lingered in the fore ground, the back of the palate. This has real potential for a long shelf life. Up there with the best from Grange and Hill of Grace. Melts in the mouth with so much balance. BUY/HOLD/DRINK.

  • Tasted double blind. My first time trying this wine and I can see why it demands such a premium to the other Torbreck and most Australian wines. This is a Shiraz of aristocratic proportions. So layered, so pure, so intense yet subtle… I was blown away that such an intense wine with 15.5% ABV can be so harmonious and without excess weight. This is not your very fruity, extracted, dense and often fat Aussie Shiraz, this is an elegant creature with old world understatement without denying its new world roots. Together with Henschke’s Hill of Grace certainly my best Aussie Shiraz experience yet and a style a really like. 97 points, but I’m convinced that If I would have followed the wine over an evening, the score would be even higher as every sip revealed new nuances.

TN: Medium+ expressive nose full of blue and dark forest berries, earthy notes, lots of minerality, mint. An even broader spectrum on the palate with dark, black and some hints of cherry fruits, lots of dry earth but also wet forest floor, crushed rocks, meaty notes, mint and sexy yet delicate roasted flavors, mocha. Quite intense but not overbearing, high precision, very harmonious and balanced with a light, fresh structure and creamy texture. A wall of fine tannins and high freshness. Although young, this is already superb to drink but will certainly have a long life and improve further.

Decanting: Quick double decant only. Didn’t need any decant but I guess that with at least 3 hours in the decanter it would have even been better
