Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined and refrigerated), note from day 2 (on Kauai). Appearance: Clear, medium lemon. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of lemon peel, pineapple, mango, and acacia with subtle hints of buttered bread and wet stone. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium+ body with a wonderful creamy mouth-feel, medium alcohol - 14.1 %, medium intensity with flavors of apricot, pineapple, lemon peel, and wet stone with a long finish. Very good to outstanding wine with great balance, length and complexity. Can drink now, with an hour or two of air, or cellar for 3-5 years.

Perfumed nose. Golden color. Full body. Young and primary. Flavors of pineapple, lemon, with a touch of butterscotch. There is also a pronounced underlying minerality giving a lovely elegance to this wine. Definitely in the Burgundian direction. Needs another 3 years before it hits its stride and may have another 10 years after that.

Really enjoyable and a definite departure from the traditional RRV style Chardonnay. Ryo-fu translates to ‘cool breeze’ and it’s a great description. I didn’t find this very full bodied at all (despite the very dark colour) the nose is initially fresh and lively (almost in a Riesling style) and the body is equally fresh with some green apple and then a deeper, more traditional finish with a little bit of nut, vanilla and stone fruit. Curious to see how this ages but it is drinking brilliantly now.

Very full bodied alcoholic chardonnay. There was some good acidity and nice tropical fruit but alcohol and phenols overwhelmed me a bit. A bit heavy handed and out of balance for me. I did not find this had me going back for another sip.

Lemon and vanilla cream palate. Smooth drinking. Oak is receding. Some oak felt on the finish still, but well placed. New world, but not too generous.
